As you know we are in the midst of a national disaster at Bihar due to the havoc caused by Kosi river floods.
Here are some statistics which tells the story of the lives that have survived ..
- Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday declared the floods in Bihar as “national disaster” after conducting an aerial survey of the state’s worst affected areas.
- Over 2 Lakh people lost their homes
- Over 25 lakh people in 15 districts have been hit by the impact of one of the worst floods in recent memory with victims from these four districts making up 19.78 lakh.
- More than 20 lakh people and their houses, including a number of townships, 242 panchayats and 671 villages which lie along the new course of the river have been inundated.
- PM has announced 1000cr Rs. as relief fund.

Why dont we take a step ahead and stretch out our hand to those who need food, shelter and even moral support.
If you cant help them with a physical presence, its our duty to help our countrymen in the crises they are facing which is considered to be the "World's Largest Evacuation".
The poor people including old men, ladies and kids are desparately waiting for the help ( medical relief, accomodation, food, shelter, search and rescue operations etc) from the government and government is made by people like you and me.
