H1 Worries Hike raising concerns

More Tensions for H1B Visa Aspirants

According to Indiatimes.com,

WASHINGTON: H1B aspirants in the US could face stringent background checks according to the latest advisory by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for employers.

The FBI has laid out specific scenarios on its website for employers to check for possible 'spies' in their organisations. It has listed 'students and educators' as one of the favourite 'cover-ups' used by agents. That's not all. The FBI, on its website, has put up a list of 'collection strategies' that agents use to get their hands on US technology.

US Senate Chanting Hindu Prayer !!

Believe it or not, its true!!

According to the news at rediff.com which reads as :

History was created in the United States Senate at 9.30 am on Thursday, when Rajan Zed, the Hindu chaplain of the Indian Association of Northern Nevada, opened the Senate with a Hindu prayer.

This is the first such instance since the formation of the powerful Upper House in 1979.

A few Christian fundamentalists protested and began screaming, while holding the Bible aloft, "Lord Jesus, protect us from this abomination."

Officers from the Sergeant of Arms' office ejected one after the other (three were taken away) from the Senate gallery which looks down on the floor.

The president pro-tem of the Senate, had to beat the podium with his gavel thrice. He requested Zed to halt his prayer just as he was about to begin, and called on the Sergeant of Arms to restore order in the Senate Chamber.

A Senate aide said these people probably had gotten visitor's passes to the Senate gallery through a Senator's office and noted that "disrupting a Senate in the chamber is a criminal offense and they can be arrested."

A few minutes later, Zed delivered his prayer which took no more than 90 seconds, which as per the instructions from the Office of the Chaplain of the Senate had to be delivered exclusively and entirely in English.

Yahoo's Smiley : 25 Running this year!!

According to the news at Techtree.com :

This year reportedly marks the 25th anniversary of the emoticon, a form of expression that has today become one of the most recognized symbols in digital communication.

First introduced in 1982, the smiley :) and his buddies have religiously added that much needed layer of expression to routine digital conversations. Emoticons have helped people better express themselves in otherwise impersonal conversations.
Jeff Bonforte, vice president, Yahoo! Messenger, said, "Nearly 85 percent of people using Yahoo! Messenger daily rely on emoticons to add color and character to their communication. Our users are the experts, and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the emoticon, we are asking Yahoo! Messenger users to create the next generation of smiley faces."

Keep Smiling :)

Artificial Life : Landmark Breakthrough by Scientists

Life Saving news or News for the New World ? You Decide

According to Gulf News Archieve,

Scientists could create the first new form of artificial life within months after a landmark breakthrough in which they turned one bacterium into another.

In a development that has triggered unease and excitement in equal measure, scientists in the US took the whole genetic makeup - or genome - of a bacterial cell and transplanted it into a different species.

This then began to grow and multiply in the lab, turning into the first species in the process.

The team that carried out the first "species transplant" says it plans within months to do the same thing with a synthetic genome made from scratch in the laboratory. If that experiment works, it will mark the creation of a synthetic lifeform.
